All this we have to learn to forgive, not for the reason that we are being "very good" and "charitable," but because what we're looking at isn't real. We now have distorted the entire world by our twisted defenses, and are for that reason seeing what on earth is not there. As we learn to recognize our perceptual errors, we also figure out how to ap
